D2H question.

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Bob the Spiderman, Mar 21, 2005.

  1. Which method of storage transfer do I use. I have Windows XP and Nikon Capture. So Mass Storage or PTP.

    Thanks Bob F.

    pretty sure

you would use mass storage, Bob.

  3. Under Windows XP you could use either but sticking with Mass Storage is probably the way you want to go.

Mass Storage makes the camera look like a disk drive to the computer.

PTP stands for Picture Transfer Protocol and it allows Windows XP (or Mac OS X 10.1.3) to handle the transfer of images from the camera to the computer.

I'd be surprised if anyone here used PTP.

Use a CF card reader instead of transferring directly from the camera. Faster and more reliable. Always the preferred option with any DSLR.
