I send my 1st, (very early release), D2X body in for repair about 3 wks ago, and they went through the whole thing tweaking the focus & mirror. I'd say it's working pretty good now! Much better than before. I couldn't even get a sharp shot when it was frozen still while fishing before it went in!
This shot was taken at an easy 400ft away with my 500 f4 + TC 1.4, so @700mm. The 1st uncropped shot gives you an idea of how d@mn far away this critter was. It was a little underexposed, so I added .17 in NC4, thus the noise in the dark part of the wings...prolly not that apparent at this reduced size.
