Could dirty contacts on a D2X lead to some slight focusing problems? It seems like it is having trouble locking a sharp focus sometimes. So far it has happened on 2 different lenses. Just curious.
Thanks,

Possible, and worth trying first. I use rubbing alcohol on a clean cotton handkerchief and lightly rub the contacts. If that doesn't work, it could be the AF module in the body needs a tweak, which means back to Nikon.

That is what I was thinking to. I just wanted to see if anyone else had/resolved an issues like this. It's never been in so I guess it is about time to freshen it up.

Thanks,

I've never had a problem that cleaning the contacts has cured, but it is still the first thing I try. I'm assuming you have a decent subject, high contrast and well lit and it's not to do with the inherent shortcomings of the AF system.
