I had two sessions yesterday and I knew I was going to get up to the 10K mark sometime this week, I got the D300 this spring and this is my
10000th shot! Incredible, I can't believe I've been taking so many shots already.

  2. 10,000 clicks in 3 months? When do you sleep?

Better yet, where the heck do you store the files??

    I sleep between 11pm and 6am!

Once a Mac - you never go back.

I do burn my Client's photos onto a DVD as soon as they order and then delete the files from my hard-drive. I hardly ever keep my own Raw files from my personal snapshots, once I've edit it, I delete the NEF unless it's a real gem.

10,000 in 3 months OMG I didn't even reach half the number in a year when I started with D70 :D

On the other side, does Nikon specify shutter life?

150,000 is the number from Nikon, but YMMV. The shutter can go out after 5 shots or last 1,000,000 shots if you are lucky.

  6. I've had my D300 3 weeks and 3000 shots

Actually, it's over a 4 month period. I got the camera on March 1st, but yeah, I hope it will keep going after 150,000 clicks.

That's great news Linda. I'm sure it'll carry on to live a long and happy life now.

    Well, I don't keep them all...lol..

Since I mostly shoot kids, I take about 200 pictures per session but the keeper rate is probably between 30-60 per session.

Thanks, I'm glad the D300 is such a work horse. :)

I shoot professionally and i am at 40k with my D300 since this january and its still going very well...

  13. By mistake I trashed #2000 in camera. Think it was a blurred BIF. Equivalent of about 55 rolls of velvia slides I was shooting 'till 4/1/08. Course like everyone else I doubt I'd be burning slides at 35 cents a pop at the same rate.

Thank goodness for Digital! I can't imagine paying for all those rolls and development.

I got mine in November and have 7000 clicks on it. I have been putting the D2H to some use during the same period though. If the D300 was my only body, I would have racked up some miles by now.
