D300 - 10k shots and going strong

    I had two sessions yesterday and I knew I was going to get up to the 10K mark sometime this week, I got the D300 this spring and this is my
    10000th shot! Incredible, I can't believe I've been taking so many shots already.

    Better yet, where the heck do you store the files??

    I sleep between 11pm and 6am!

    Once a Mac - you never go back. :biggrin:

    I do burn my Client's photos onto a DVD as soon as they order and then delete the files from my hard-drive. I hardly ever keep my own Raw files from my personal snapshots, once I've edit it, I delete the NEF unless it's a real gem.

    10,000 in 3 months OMG I didn't even reach half the number in a year when I started with D70 :D 

    On the other side, does Nikon specify shutter life?

    150,000 is the number from Nikon, but YMMV. The shutter can go out after 5 shots or last 1,000,000 shots if you are lucky.

    Actually, it's over a 4 month period. I got the camera on March 1st, but yeah, I hope it will keep going after 150,000 clicks.

    That's alot of images in a short time..........when the heck do you do post processing, have a meal, etc.?

    As they as.......pass the butter, because you're on the roll!!!! Happy shooting!!!

    Well, I don't keep them all...lol..

    Since I mostly shoot kids, I take about 200 pictures per session but the keeper rate is probably between 30-60 per session.

    Thanks, I'm glad the D300 is such a work horse. :)

    I shoot professionally and i am at 40k with my D300 since this january and its still going very well...
     
  13. By mistake I trashed #2000 in camera. Think it was a blurred BIF. Equivalent of about 55 rolls of velvia slides I was shooting 'till 4/1/08. Course like everyone else I doubt I'd be burning slides at 35 cents a pop at the same rate.

    Thank goodness for Digital! I can't imagine paying for all those rolls and development.

    I got mine in November and have 7000 clicks on it. I have been putting the D2H to some use during the same period though. If the D300 was my only body, I would have racked up some miles by now.
