Is it a good idea to update to the latest firmware as soon as it comes out?

I am running 1.01 and 1.03 is avaliable.

Since there is no matrix as to what the differences are and or what 1.03 fixes; I just want to make sure I am not "Fixing What Ain't Broke".

Any insight?

Cheers.

Update It

A) If there wasn't something blatantly wrong to you....it was there somewhere or they wouldn't have issued new code for it.

B) There are also unannounced changes within the 1.03 update.

I don't know why but I always procrastinate this! I think I haven't even done one of my D200's. (one was updated when I sent it for service)

I need to do this tomorrow!

Sounds like the upgrade should be done.

I worked in an industry where firmware and software updates would get sent out for "Fixes" but never was tested like it should have been. Sometimes firmware upgrades should be avoided; however I have no experience with Nikon upgrades and how the performance will improve.

I am an amateur with the D300 but always trying to improve. So I may not notice any "minor" fixes with the new firmware.
