Any ideas? Has anyone had one of these go bad?

I checked all the settings in the menu and it looks to be set to on. I was at Sea World last week and in some of the darker exhibits i couldn't get my d300 to focus :( Any ideas?

The only time I have ever had this happen was when in continuous focus mode. Bumped it while shooting and the camera would not focus in low light.

It happened few times that my D300 wud not focus in low light & I assumed that it has something to do with all D300 focusing issues that is discussed so much...
Thank for this thread & inputs :)
