So I am thinking they need to do a firmware upgrade for the d300. This is what I would like to see done:

    min shutter speed to 1/500
    add auto Active D-lighting
and to be able to set auto ISO with more options( like a max high of 2500)...

oh yes and set the FN button to scroll through your picture settings (like vivid, Neutral, land, portrait...)

what do you guys think and would you like to see?

I usually shoot slower that 1/500

Is that what you meant to say?
  3. That is the only reason I kept my D70s because I sometimes like to use fill flash with shutter speeds faster than 1/320 sec. It drives me crazy that the D300 won't allow that same sync speed as the older D70s.

the d50 and d70 had a hybrid electronic shutter.

This would not be possible with a FW update.

I think the OP meant he would like a max flash sync speed of 1/500
  5. Did a new firmware come out in the last couple of days???
  6. use an external flash then - I can use my SB600 at any shutter speed now
  7. Not that I'm aware of, this is more a wish list from the OP
