D50 Problem

Discussion in 'Nikon DX DSLR Forum' started by AndyPeacock, May 8, 2007.

  1. I have a friend who has a D50 with a little problem. When shooting with the popup flash in TTL mode the images are way underexposed and very dark. I also own a D50 and have tried taking side by side pictures using the same lens and settings and it produces a well exposed image. I have also just tried his camera again this time using an sb800 and again the image is fine. So there appears to be a problem with the onboard flash. It does flash by the way, and setting it to manual mode give more than enough light to overexpose the image.

Sorry for the lengthy explantion, any help would be much appreciated.

  2. I believe I have the same problem with my D50. I just discovered it today. My built-in flash does not work, same as you describe, but it works fine with my SB600 attached. Have you found any other solution to the problem, or is the D50 pop-up flash defective?
