I have just started using Picture Controls on my D700 . I d/l the 3 from Nikon (Portrait, Landscape and D2x which has 3 files) This now gives me a total of 5 new Picture Controls. Can you please tell me how many I can store within the camera itself. Page 174 of the D700 manuel says that you can save up to 99 custom picture controls on the memory card. Are they talking about the memory card that I insert into the camera or the memory card within the camera itself. I installed Portrait, Landscape and then D2X-1 and D2X-2 and it appeared that there was no other space left to install D2X-3, so I removed Landscape and installed DX-3.
If I am wrong and have more room, then I will re-install Landscape. Can anyone having experience with these custom picture controls give me any advice as to the difference and uses of the D2X 3 files. Hope to hear from someone today as I would love to try them later on in the day.
