Just ordered my 16-85 (see 18-70 replacement). Now I'm thinking about what my travel kit should be.

My lenses with my D7000 will be 16-85, 50/1.4 AF-D, 70-300 VR Nikkors and 10-20 Sigma. My trip is at the end of the year and most photo opportunities (this is more of a working vacation) will be street, temples, some people, maybe some landscapes. I have room for 2 lenses only, no flash or tripod.

I was thinking 16-85 and 10-20. Does that make sense?

I would take just the 16-85. I don't like anything wider than 24 for anything man made, even trees, the distortion drives me crazy. I shoot a D800 + 24-120 for similar trips. I'm headed to key west in the AM and I'm taking a d500 + 80-400 for wildlife and a D800 + 24-120 for everything else and that's it. Too many trips where I took more and never used the more

  4. I'd take the 16-85 and the 10-20. I'm heading to Asia later this year and am debating whether to take my D500 with 16-85 and Nikon 10-24 or D810 with 24-85 and 20/1.8G. I love wide angles for cities with tight spaces and churches or temples.
