Thanks, folks. On the gull shot I used Topaz Clarity "fur and feathers" preset. That plus a bit of saturation and cropping is all that was done from as shot w/neutral picture control to finished image. I forgot the Topaz or would have used it on the other two as well. The backlit bird took a bit of PP but I liked the light shining through the beak so stuck with it....

The clarity is amazing. Not only can you count the feathers, you can count the feather follicles. The background is great as well. It almost looks like you shot them up close with a 200 f/2.

Dan, great series. However the last shot is really over the top. The detail on the eyes, white color and feather detail was done to perfection.
