I caught it before it could land in tall grass but is it a simple fix?
First I've seen of that. Give APS a call and ask them.
I think they are opened until 1:00pm today.
Bobby, you need to be more gentle! Out of curiosity, what does the part of the button look like that goes into the camera? Does it look like some piece actually broke off, or does it look more like a press fit?
This is the back of the button. Small cushion in place, does not appear to be an electrical contact.
Interesting, from the pictures it does look like a press fit perhaps. I am guessing you tried shoving it back in, and it just keeps falling out?
Now that I think about it a bit more, I think your D7200 is telling you to order a D850 ...
APS said the camera has to be disassembled. Minimum $145.00. Oh well...the price we pay.
It works, but I'm sending it to APS on Monday, plus, ordering a new one tonight. Love this Nikon body.
Well - for 145 you probably get it back repaired, calibrated, and with the sensor cleaned. Practically a bargain. Still - I kind of like that custom repair look...
Could it be a carbon pad to make/break contact?
I can't believe you didn't use Duct, or even Duck, tape, preferably in Camo. What the heck kind of MacGuyver are you? Or should that be McGyver ...
How many clicks does that one have?
And I'm leaving it there for the Nikon guys. Plus, it works like that and I'm still using it.
$238.00. Oh well.
Called APS. The D7200 WAS to be received here today, but now they're saying they need to order a part, from Japan, and they can't give me an idea of how long it will take. Glad that I picked up another one a few months ago.
Sorry to hear that.
Yeah, oh well. Plus, my malfunctioning...focuses SOMEtimes...300 2.8 is being shipped to them tomorrow. Maybe I'll just take up tennis.
I sent in a tc to Nikon. It has been in shop since 9/8 waiting for a part. I made a few calls and the expected date for the part to arrive is 10/20. I hope you have better luck with your part.
