Nikon Rumors thinks so...
Cool, if true...
I'm hoping something will release soon simply to drop the price of the D7200 a bit more.
I've made a resolution not to buy any new camera body for at least one year, and instead concentrate on improving my skills. If this new body is announced, it will be my first test.
D7200 with Snapbridge instead of WMU !!!
I just got my D7200 last month! - haven't got any features I am missing. It was already discounted, probably in anticipation of the new model coming.
Compared to the old D90 it is an enormous leap already. I moved from 2008 to 2015 in terms of development and am happy to wait for the next jump a few years
Preliminary specs says it has the same 20-MP sensor as the D500. If so, I don't think I'll be interested.
Yep, if rumors are correct it will be the 'enthusiast' version of the D500.
I'm not sure how I feel about the drop in MP. I actually would have preferred it go in the other direction. NOT for a MP war. But as a better differentiation from the D500.
D500 - High speed action shooter
D7500 - High resolution portrait, landscape, etc.
Of course each would be capable of both, but that way the D7500 wouldn't just be seen as a "LESSER" D500. IMHO
The D500 is pretty amazing at high iso, but the dynamic range at base iso is actually slightly lower than that of the D7200, though hardly enough to be noticeable.
The guts of the D500 at half the price, should be a huge seller.
Some stuff may make it's way in, but guts of the D500? Probably not.
20MP sensor from the Nikon D500
51 points AF
153 point AF module with 99 cross-type points
AF point joystick
10 fps shooting for up to 200 shots (lossless compressed 14-bit Raw to XQD card)
After getting a D500 I kept my D7200, 1st time
They're probably doing that to increase the fps on the D7500. Still keeping a healthy distance from the D500 with 8 vs 10 fps, though.
If I don't need FPS I'll reach for my D7200 over my D500
I've almost pulled the trigger on the D7200 three times now, as it's going for $1K CDN
If it doesn't have the same AF module of the D500, I would consider it an upgrade fail.
While I haven't been "searching" for rumors on the D7500, none of the ones I have seen say anything about it having the D500 AF. I as recall it took 4-5 years before the 51 point system from the D300s made it into the D7100, the D7000 had the 39 point system.
If it stays at 51 points and goes up by a couple fps people will be disappointed, kind of like the D5000 series updates that don't amount to anything. I'm still holding out for a mirrorless FF retro.
I think they'd also have to go to XQD cards to hit the frame rates as well wouldn't they?
I'm really underwhelmed by the D7500 specs. I'll keep saving for a D500.
