So what's the current situation in the UK? Still imperial, gradually switching over, not switching over at all, already there?
A weird mix.

Roads are still in miles ( huge cost to change the signage? ) and everything else is metric. You can still buy a pint of beer but it's just a name because the 'pint' is legally defined in metric units ( as I think all imperial units are ).

In terms of people, as they get younger they're more metric but even then it's a strange mix with people using imperial for their height and weight. I've deliberately tried to talk in metric to my children but even so, they still refer to themselves in imperial.
