Every year our neighborhood celebrates Utah statehood when the pioneers entered the Salt Lake valley on July 24, 1847. Neighbors get together and have a breakfast, games and a little parade put on by the kiddies. This thread is to chronicle this years parade. All images shot with my D2H, 17-55 mm lens and fill flash using a single SB800.

That's a great tradition, I hope the young kids keep it going. Super shots too, although that lady driving the car seems to have an issue with you :)

Actually she is a friend of mine and was simply pointing out to Jasmine that she needed to look at the photographer (me). Thanks for taking the time to comment.

#3 and #8 are priceless

You definitely picked two of my favorites. Thanks for your nice comment.

Thanks Brian, of course it is nothing like the SLC celebration where they camp out overnight to watch the parade. We started early to beat the heat and were all done and cleaned up by 10:00. Thanks for looking.

That was the tradition in my wife's family growing up. I told her I'd do it once, and I did it ONCE. She's slept out a few times since then when there's been out-of-town family here, but not me.
