Nice captures. That cock pit is all business and I'm sure the pilots are keeping a close eye on oil pressure and cylinder head temps. Those radials sure love to smoke at start up. Thanks for sharing.

I always liked that when you sat in a window seat at the wing root, you could see into the engine at take off when the cooling flaps were open (like in photo #2). The cylinder heads would glow BRIGHT RED during takeoff and climb out, then go back to dark before the cooling flaps closed down (as they are in photo #1).
