A group of us, including my daughter Anna, age 9 , Gordon Large, and some others went over to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Smyrna, Delaware earlier this year. We hit a small beach just south of Bombay and caught some more shore birds:

Nice captures, Mark. Terns and shanks (are they spotted shanks?) are beautiful birds.
  4. You're becoming quite the bird photographer, Mark! Well done! I especially like the first and last shots.

    Pretty images Mark.
  7. Good series Mark it's to bad the fight photos have such a blending BG as the birds get lost in it but that's not your fault that's nature. fine series

More nice shots, Mark, especially the squabling Willets. I second Lou's comment about the background but hey, that's what was there.

    Thank you Flew.

Thank you - I asked them to move down the beach a little but they ignored me.....

Thank you Gordon. The one thing that I noticed was the wide range of color the pebbles had - I usually do not see that in the same place.

Thank you - These were shot from the car, which is not my preference but it does provide the shooter with a 'blind' effect. Once you get out of the car, they usualy take off or become really interested in what you are doing - stay in the car and they don't seem to care.
