I still see kids on the beach and in sun bathing salons.....it's as bad as cigarettes
The laws prevent them from legally smoking cigarettes but there aren't any laws about sunbathing.

When my generation was childage, the scientists weren't telling us about the risks of sun on our skin. Today's generation of children don't have that excuse and should know better.

A most interesting image, Gary!

Vanity is of all genders :)
I suppose this isn't a contemporary image and just as people were blissfully unaware of the dangers of smoking, the thread of uv was also unknown.

Great photo! As Bart said, this must be from an era when the dangers of excessive UV exposure were not yet fully understood (though by the early 1970s the risks of smoking were well understood, despite the tobacco industry's efforts to obfuscate).

Truly a great great photograph. A few things come to mind while analyzing the photo: Film-Like photo,Cancer 'ah coming, the 1950's, Three Gangsters.
