Last week, I visited Des Moines for a short time and captured the following pictures. I've included a few photos (#1, #4 and #11) from my prior trip in 2016 as well.

I was there at sunset, but black clouds had snuffed out the sun.....
During this trip to Des Moines, I arrived at one of the bridges at 5:30am for sunrise and the sun never broke through the haze--forest fires from the West. Then, my sunset shoot didn't materialize because the Women of Achievement bridge never lit that night. The joys of photography!

Then again, I caught other breaks along the way.

As always, you photos are a pleasure to look at more than just once. Is the brutalist staircase in the library?
Thank you…

That staircase is located in the Des Moines Art Center. The Art Center is interesting from an architectural standpoint—the three wings are entirely different styles
