I had knee and thumb surgery so I can't race this season, nor can I hike to any interesting places on this particular course. I had fun and some shots turned out pretty well, but I'm still learning.
D200, Sigma 70-200 2.8, 1/1000 shutter, 3.5-2.8 f stop, m mode with auto iso to compensate for exposure set at 0.

Very good shots Shepard, looks like the D200 and 70-200 produced.
You have come to the right place to gain knowledge with all the super folks here.
Take care of those injuries!

You're learning quick! Nice all around. Maybe I miss a side shot with panning and some motion blur.

I wish you all the best with the recovery.

Love the avatar, did you take the photo?

Great action shots, when I shot motorcross I found that a wide lens and a low position was a recipe for success. Try it if you get the chance?

Get well soon, keep shooting lots.

Thanks, I have had the avatar and the handle for a long time online. I have no idea where the picture is from. Funny you should mention it, I just got a 10-20 and plan to use it a bunch at the national race next weekend. I really want to try to show some more of the couse in my next shots.
