Do I really need a macro lens??

Ya, but with a macro you'd have seen that that fly has a cavity in his
right rear molar... :wink:

Seriously though, super shots, especially that fly...! :cool:

Dont think so. Taken with my 300mm, 1.4 converter.

Nice shots, the fly is good stuff.

You need a macro lens if you want to get inside, the Pictures you send are considered close ups, but not macro.

The difference is for instans a dandilion, while you get a great closeup shot with the 300 + conv you wil not be able to get a decend shot if you pill the flower apart and do a single seedpod, maybe I should try to insert a picture

So its realy up to you, a macro lens is not as versetile as you combo, but the results can be different.
