Do any of you guys and gals (i'm in Texas )  carry a P&S with you; or do you own one along with your DSLR?

  2. i'd like to get an actual P&S to have for those times my D300 is inconvient

but I also have a 3.2MP camera on my cell phone too...

  3. I have a little Nikon Coolpix S-550 that I often take along on business trips.

In Texas, is that P&S kind of like a backup and worn around the ankle?

My cell phone does the job for the very few time my camera isn't with me.

I have a Canon A620, but I've basically given it to my wife to use. She uses it to take pictures of my son and of him and I since she doesn't know her way around my D70s at all.

  7. I have a Canon A570 IS and my wife carries a smaller Canon IX digital elph or whatever. It's great for casual travel and a whole lot easier to pack than the D300.

Why my wife carries a camera in her purse! (yeah it could be cropped but where is the fun in that?)

Thanks; that's what I am talking about; short trips when your D300 is just too much hhandle.

Definitely. Canon A630. I keep it in the *gasp* diaper bag to catch little fun snapshots and mini-movies (since the D300 can't do that LOL).

I have a P&S for going out w/ friends, etc. I don't wanna be "that guy" who breaks out the D200 & sb-800 w/ a flash bracket while bowling, ya know? ;)

I carry the canon SD 450 sometimes. It's older but I like it because it's the size of a deck of cards and only has 5 mpx The pixel race is so insane even the cheap p/s have 8-12 mpx now which is like cramming 100mpx on a DX sensor.
When I have the p/s I use the video mode alot which is making me think of the new D90....

When I've gone on vacations, carried a Canon Powershot Something for video catching and stealth capturing when the Nikon is too big to whip out.
