Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by Cleanmaxx Brian, May 5, 2007.

  1. Do you WANT a 200-400 f4 VR? Do you want more reach AND more SHARPNESS? Are you wondering if this lens is REALLY worth the asking price???

Well....let me see if I can help you...

    make up your mind!

    Shot today:
All images here are cropped to some extent but NO ADJUSTMENTS on color, contrast, or saturation! Every shot hand held...
And if you click on the picture, it should get even sharper!

Reallistically speaking, how practical is this lens in terms of weight? How long could you go handheld before your arms need a rest?

    Nice shots. Great looking lens.

  9. LOL thanks all!

As for how long can you hand hold this lens...I think it really depends on your size. I am a big guy and really only found it a PITA the first couple of days. After that I kinda got used to it! Now I think nothing of walking around the lakes looking for birds or hanging out at the air field shooting planes. As long as you do not have to hold it to frame the shot for a long period, I think most big guys would have no problem.

And when you put on you "little" 70-200 2.8, it will feel like a pocket point and shoot :D

  10. Hi Rex, These were taken at the Bethpage Polo grounds here on Long Island.
This and Cedar Creek are my RC hang outs

Thanks, Brian. I used to race eighth-scale rc gas cars until I limited myself to one "expensive" hobby. But I still love watching the rc car races and rc planes hot-dogging.

If you have time, and if I may indulge you, send me the event schedule via PM.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards.
