Reallistically speaking, how practical is this lens in terms of weight? How long could you go handheld before your arms need a rest?

As for how long can you hand hold this lens...I think it really depends on your size. I am a big guy and really only found it a PITA the first couple of days. After that I kinda got used to it! Now I think nothing of walking around the lakes looking for birds or hanging out at the air field shooting planes. As long as you do not have to hold it to frame the shot for a long period, I think most big guys would have no problem.

And when you put on you "little" 70-200 2.8, it will feel like a pocket point and shoot
