    Tom,
    No tubes and hand held (flash helps). I have yet to use a tripod doing macro, the bugs move too fast etc. Extension tubes may be purchased for my 300 mm f4 using a monopod. I may try using 1.4TC with the 105vr.
    Having a lot of fun with macro,most shots taken within a 1000' of home.
