Dog sport: Agility

Discussion in 'Sports Photography' started by RKnecht, Sep 1, 2008.

  1. It's that time of year here in the Northeast. The weather is cooling down and and the dogs are ready! Here are a few from this past weekend;s show. I am booked until mid-October, so I'll be posting often unless I get complaints. All the below shots were taken with the D3 and 300 2.8.

    Nice images.
Would rather see the dobermans ears floppy though, don't believe in clipping them.

I wondered what happened to the mop after my kids used it to clean up their last mess.

Rich, these are cool as always, and I love calling the kids in to view them. (they like 'em too!)

  6. These are nice fun shots, I like how No. 3 bursts out of the tunnel. Bet these competitors don't back talk the ref.

  7. Number 4 is great! The ?dreads? moving with the weave poles is great!

  8. yeah, #4 sure is a hoot, how'd that dog see? Some great shots, they must be a fast moving target...but I bet the D3 handles 'em w/ aplomb.

  9. Great shots Rich . . . Always enjoy looking at your pictures ..

  12. Thanks everyone for the kind remarks. It sure is a blast to watch/shoot these events. These dogs are athletes in their own way.

  13. i look forward to your posts Rich
I doubt these shots could be any better and I bet you sell them all
    post some more

  14. great shot, rich
i have only seen an agility contest 1 TIME, in person
    what fun
you have shown us some great shots here.... thanks

  15. You're right. You have to see one of these shows in person, up close, to really appreciate the speed and agility these dogs exhibit. I am constantly amazed at how well some of the handlers keep these fast dogs "on track". I am shooting another show this weekend and Hanna is on its way. I just hope the heavy rain holds out until the runs are over.

Wonderful work Rich, your photography makes me feel as though I am there with you. The image quality is spot on.
