Right now, we have so many dogwood trees in bloom that I have not been bothering to photograph them:eek:. However, I just could not resist this one bloom – it was a bit larger and a bit prettier than its neighbors:smile:.

The floor of the woods is filled with patches of May apple. You have to get down and dirty to photograph the single flower that is suspended below the wide leaf canopy, especially in the rain:wink:.

Fine examples Bob. Appreciate the effort.

My dogwood dis-appointed this year. It only had about a half dozen blooms. Must have been the dryness of last year. I have seen many blooming in the area and will try my hand at them if the rain lets up and there are any blooms left then.

Thanks, Mike. I have a strip of acidic ground that runs for about 1/2 mile across my property -- the dogwoods literally grow like weeds in that strip. [I've been known to mow them with the bush hog just to keep some paths open.] Some of them have been adversely affected by the weather this year, but, if you're in the neighborhood this week, stop by.

Nicely done! As mentioned the texture in #1 is very nice. Also good compositions and use of DOF on both images.
