Downy or Hairy?

I can not tell the difference. I think one is generally bigger?

The beak on a hairy is the key. IF the beak is almost as long as the width of the head that's a Hairy. If the beak is very small compared to the width of the head that's a downy. Downy is one of the smaller woodpeckers around
Cool. Thanks! Then this one visiting around the same time but noticeably different in size may be a Downy.
