Just back from a holiday in the southern part of France, the Drôme Provençale.
We stayed in a lovely little town called Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux.
I have about all the processing still to do but this first one gives a fine representation of the setting.

Nice! Looks like it was made with a view camera. I'm interested in how much more you'll be able to drag out of that exposure.

Stephen, Tri and Rob, Greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

It'll take me some time to select and process.
Also, lots of images 'need' the colours of the south: purple lavender fields, silver-green of the olive trees,... I have yet to see how they work out in b&w.

Quite a lot actually, if I understand correctly.
Some different choices during the conversion, a bit less contrast and a lighter version emerges
Highlights brought down

Myself, I prefer the harsher version I posted first. I find it suggests a stronger and brighter light.

I also made some slight perspective corrections in DxO by the way.

You might have to clear the cache by reloading the page to get the updated version (2nd one).

Agreed!
Of the 3 versions, the one in the 1st post is still my choice.
But as they say in France: "Les goûts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas"

That's right. Both from the original Latin phrase "De gustibus ( et coloribus ) non est disputandum"

Or in today's shorthand "YMMV"
