Drag Racing night shot

I took this shot at last years IHRA World Finals in Rockingham, NC. I haven't posted here in a long time but a friend and I were looking for some different shots to sell at the races and I remembered this one. I'll be trying this again and also some different angle and lighting stuff at this years event.

Taken with D2X, 17-55.

1.3 second exposure then a remote flash fired by a Pocket Wizard with a rear curtain sync - that's what gets the 2nd image of the car moving out.

Thanks for the nice comments - I'm proof that every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut!

Excellent David - that really says "sudden". A really cool element to me is that you can see a bit of image of the car in the far lane after the foreground car is away - implying the foreground car got away much quicker. I'm sure if you dial that technique in you'll be able to sell a lot of photos - I haven't studied drag shots but it sure looks unique to me.
