Nice series, Ricardo! All good, but I particularly like the Avocet, 2nd Pelican, and the Mallard shots.

  3. Very nice set Ricardo.
I really like the first Curlew and the avocet it is so rare to catch them in deep water usually it is standing in the mud or shallow water.
I use to shoot at the Don Edwards WLP, Hayward Interpretive and Palo Alto. This was always a good time with overlaping seasons.

Stunning shots Ricardo, especially the curlew ones. Where were they taken?

Excellent series Ricardo. Hard to pick favorites from this bunch. All are up to your normal exemplary standards.

  8. Nicely done, beautifully exposed and sharp. Great series and nice variety!!!
On the first shot, which one were you focused on.

    Thanks.
The shorebirds were from Hayward shoreline. The "frank's dump" spot is just spectacular in terms of number. You an easily see hundreds of shorebirds in one evening. Thats where I took the pano. The slough around the intrepretive center is not as impressive in numbers but I usually able to get closer.
The others were from Coyote hills park and Palo Alto baylands.

Yes some of these were from Hayward shoreline and Palo Alto baylands. Which Don Edwards are you referring to, the one in fremont or the one in alviso? I never have really productive session at Fremont site.

Ricardo, these are really stunning shots. The images are technically perfect and many were captured showing wonderful flight or other behaviors that really add live. Congrats!

  14. The one in Freemont, I got some good ones in the wetlands and some stilts and avocet out by the fishing pier before they close it during breading season.
But the maintrails by the bay can be disapointing.
I found the Hayward area one of the best for shorebirds and ducks you can get closer then almost anywhere and the variety is very good.

    Excellent images..

The avocet is not seen that close very often. Great shot.
Have see scores of them at the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, however not close enough to shoot at allll.

    Thank you for sharing.
