My guess is that a lot of people would tell you that it's generally a no-no to position the horizon in the middle. Though I disagree, in this case I would crop to eliminate about two-thirds of the clouds. That's because, for me, the most interest is in the foreground and, in the case of the color version, the sunrise or sunset. I would probably go with the color version over the monochrome version because of that sunlight at the horizon and its reflection in the water. Regardless, nicely done!

Will do. The horizon was lower in the frame when I took it but I agreed with you I should crop of some clouds. However, I can only think one thought at a time :) so I did not notice that what I did put the horizon in the middle.

Hi Allan. I prefer the color version as the colors and reflections look very nice. IMO If you could change the color of the blue sky and clouds a bit to purple-grey like the reflections, the image might look better. The blue colors in the sky look as if they are from day time.

I don't usually prefer the horizon in the middle, but in this image it looks good to me.
