I was cleaning up my hard drive today when I came upon this photo of a bald eagle I took this summer at the Detroit Zoo.
I had discounted it as a ok shot, but after looking closer I decided it was a pretty good one.
What you don't see in this shot is that he only has 1 wing. But he seems to be very content to sit out at the zoo with no tethers or cage.
    I hope you like it.

Very handsome animal Dave. It's a shame about his wing, but good that he has a safe place to live.
  3. That's a very interesting presentation, Dave! Doesn't look like it was in the zoo! Great job!

    Thanks Kevin and Frank....
  5. Wow, what a look Dave, nice shot!!
  6. Great image Dave, I have yet to capture a Baldie.

The composition is cool with the branches keeping him safe.

That is such a powerful image, Dave. Eagles are one of my favorite birds and they photograph so well. This image is captured so well with the trees bordering the sides..which draws attention directly to the bird. Great shooting, Dave!

    More Eagles...

Thanks Frits, Brett, Frank and Ben.
The funny thing is when I took it I wasn't really pleased with it or the others. But after looking again the other day, I was blown away with how cool that shoot was.
A year ago, my best friend took me to a falconry north of Toronto for my birthday, here are a few of the shots from that day.
