As Bill has already posted. Bill and I met down at the osprey nest to check out the goslings. Well they were not to be found. The osprey did a little flying around before Bill arrived but we got real lucky to have this adult bald eagle flying around us. On the way back to the car we found a pair of common mergansers sitting on a rock. Not a bad day at all..

The common mergansers on the rock. Funny positions before they take a potty break.

Hey, Jim, those all look VEEERRRRRYYYYY familiar

Great stuff, but Nancy was NOT impressed with my Crappy Mergansers .....

Did you figure out what that Eagle was eating? He sure took his time "chowing down" on the wing didn't he?

I'm still mad at those danged baby Geese though .....

Too bad Morrie and Louie didn't come by .....

Great day, glad you spotted the Mergansers before we scared them off.

Beautiful shots Jim! The crows are always pestering my ospreys.

Anthony
Thanks Anthony. It is funny to see the crows in action against the eagles, hawks and osprey. I watched the crows chase a hawk for the longest time yesterday.

Nice shots , all of them
Thanks Gale. It was one of those times, we went out to find the gooslings and ended up finding something else.

Awww the crow and the Eagle:>))))
Yep, the saga continues. Crow vs eagle.

Great shots James - nicley colored ducks ( and the B.E.)
The ducks and eagles made the day for sure.

Nice set!
Thanks.

Great captures Jim,love those BIF shots thanks for sharing these.

We were lucky to have found the one place that had sun. It sure makes shooting BIFS a lot easier.

Nice series Jim. I have eagle envy!
Thanks David. After seeing your latest shots, it is I that has envy.
Beautiful set Jim, well done. Looks like you guys hit the jackpot yesterday evening. You caught some very interesting action by this eagle.

Louie
Sorry you did not make it down Louie. We did indeed get lucky.

Yes, all beautiful captures. #3 is a very nice pose.
Thanks.

Outstanding captures Jim.
Thanks Harry.

Well those were indeed Crappy Mergansers. I did not have the nerve to post the actions shots. What ever the eagle was chewing on was pretty small. I could never make out what it was.

Awesome set, James!
Thanks much.

Thanks Jerry. We were lucky to have found the Mergansers in such a good location. They were very close in. Almost across from the trail going to the car.

Great captures, Jim, Love those bald eagle shots!
Thanks. It was a real treat to watch the eagles flying around us.
great shots!
Thanks much.

I can only add my kudos on a fine set of images!

Again, thanks for looking.
