I'm not a usual flower buff but the gardens were in prime for rose blooms. Getting photos now is the only way to get ahead of future magazine articles. Lead time must be in months and sometimes more than one year. I was hoping to spend time with individual blooms but there was so much of a breeze that the buds were moving all over the place. In fact, I went off tripod and slapped the 105 mm f/2.8 on the D2X and went hand held to get what I could. It was like tracking down little racing rabbits just to get something. The first part of this album has individual buds/blooms that I was able to get.

Since you are into kayaks you might have missed these that I had posted under golf subject in answer to a question. Kayaks at bottom of series. Water had to be ice cold since my car was covered in snow the next morning.
