Embracing the Village

Discussion in 'Landscapes, Architecture, and Cityscapes' started by Rui Lopes, Aug 5, 2009.

  1. PENELA (CENTER OF PORTUGAL). ON THE TOP OF A HILL THE CASTLE ARMOURED WALLS SEEM TO BE EMBRACING THE VILLAGE. THE WHITE CHURCH INSIDE, ALSO ADDS TO THE IMAGE, CREATING A CURIOUS PICTORIAL CONTRAST:

  2. I dig the contrat. The white buildings really catch my eye. Have you tried a b&w conversion on this yet? I don't think it would work as well but it would be cool to see none the less.

This is beautiful, Rui. I, too, love the contrast with the red and white

As everyone else has stated, love the contrast on this image.

  6. Specially at the request of David, here is the B&W version and a "bonus" - the same in sepia. I´d like to get your opinions. Which one is better? I like the sepia too...

One vote for sepia. Still prefer the original though.

  8. Now that I see this at home, I like the b&w one better than the sepia. The contrast shows better (at least on my monitor) better than the color and sepia one. Nicely done Rui.

Has to be the original for me. Beautiful place and photograph! How on earth do you get around to all these picturesque places?!
