I bought an "original OEM" battery from eBay which turns out to be a fake. It won't charge beyond 85% and even then it drops to 60% in a matter of minutes of use. I got a refund thankfully, but now I need to order another one. I'm tempted just to go and buy a proper Nikon boxed one, but at pushing £70 in the UK it seems a bit crazy. I can get an ExPro for less than half that and they seem to have reasonable reviews. Anyone got any experience of after-market batteries that are any good?

From Amazon I got the RavPower versions. Got them back in 2016 and they are still working fine

EN-EL15 EN EL15a RAVPower Battery Charger Set Compatible with Nikon d750, d7200, d7500, d850, d610, d500, MH-25a, d7200, z6, d810 Batteries (2-Pack, Micro USB Port, 2040mAh) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JG6QWUA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_pWxfFbMW50A6E
Thanks Andrew - will the RAVPower batteries also charge in the standard Nikon charger?

Unfortunately purchasing a Nikon battery in a Nikon box still doesn't guarantee that it's not a counterfeit as faking the boxes is the easy part. Weighing mine sorted them out. You need to purchase from a recognised non-eBay seller. I see that there's an eBay 'UK' seller selling 'genuine ones' quite cheap but if you look at the logo ,which at first seems genuine but then you'll notice that the 'Import by Nikon (T)' part has been blanked out

The top one, 'genuine' from Hong Kong weighed 75g where as the original supplied with camera was 79g. Its a very clever copy with just slightly lighted printing and more shine to the hologram
