So I need to pick up an extra battery or two for my D50. The one that came with it is the EN-EL3a. Searching online, there is a -a and -e....

What is the difference between the -a and the -e?

would the -e work on the D50?

    Thanks

-e will work fine, it just has the capability of retaining data like shots taken, and %left... (feature the the d200) but will charge in the same base, and will be backwards compatible
