A friend gave up on his Epson 3800 printer and bought a new one. His excitement made me think about my printer - an Epson 3880. I slowly had reduced my printer output and when I rearranged my computer room in April 2019 I left it unplugged. So, after 27 months I got an extension cord and plugged it in. I hooked it up with a long usb cable and downloaded the driver for McOS11. I opened Qimage One, put in a piece of paper and tried a print.

I was totally surprised that the print head was not clogged.

When I bought my used 3880 a year ago, it was sitting on seller's garage for a couple of years, and yup.. I only had to run cleaning cycle twice to get rid of small clogging, and it still works like charm!! Great Printer!

Definitely it is. I spoke with my friend a few minutes ago. He said he bought a cleaning kit from Amazon and feels that is what wrecked his 3800.

Shocking, but glad for you since cleaning the heads consumes considerable ink. I think Epson printers have improved a lot. I have the SC P800 and really like it.
Yes they have. I had one before the 3880 which got clogged all the time.
