I went to Neck point in Nanaimo today, the Herrings are Spawning and the place is full of birds and predators, well actually Isaw pretty much only Seagulls and Sealions. Then suddenly I saw a Juvenile Eagle trying to get away from a Seagull and they came right at me. Bad light but still fun. I guess the Seagull won that round pretty easily..... Poor Eagle!

That is amazing! I never would have thought a gull would go up against an eagle. Poor lighting or not, the images in this series is great.

I have seen lots of "grouchy" birds going after eagles, but never a gull. And Most grouchy birds pick on younger eagles too, like in this instance.

Very unique shots, well done on being in the right place at the right time.

I have observed Red Wing BB going after Juvy eagles and adult eagles, Blue jays, and others but never a gull. I have seen a eagle and a peli have a few words splashing around each other near a log, but nothing major more like hey move buddy, no you move buddy type of thing but then both flew off.

Cool shots! This was a for sure a bully session!

Incredible series Andreas. You've captured some NG images in this series. I've never seen anything close to this type of encounter.

Thank you!

That's just fantastic...!

Probably not....
Fantastic action you caught here Andreas. I'm not certain that the gull would want to try this a couple years from now.

Yes, quite a pinch!
Outstanding Andreas, esp the 5th and 6th one. Man he has a real hold on that eagle.

Thanks Wade, I have seen them pick too but never anything like this!

Great timeing with a killer set of shots. Your sensor looks like it could use a good cleaning.
