Excursion from MD to July 4 Parade in DC

If you've never been there, the 4th of July parade in DC is pretty spectacular. Floats and bands from all over the country.
Lots of ethnic groups in costume, etc.

Parade kicks off at 12 sharp but staging area is terrific starting much earlier.

I have a parking place at friend's house on Capital Hill so parking is no problem.

My plan is to leave Columbia area (near 29 and 32) about 10, park on Capital Hill, take Metro from Eastern Market to a stop off the Mall, walk around till 1:30 or so and return.

I have room for 3 (maybe 4 if you don't mind 3 across in SUV.)

 

I leave at 9:30 AM for parade/
