Found this gem near Claytor Lake Virginia. Lots of old stuff that nobody wanted anymore crammed inside (mattresses, cribs, etc)

  5. You had me at the Piano ! What a find. Can you visit it fequently ? If so, try going back and different times of the day to see how the lighting changes. Bet you could get some very atmospheric shots.

  6. Nice series and a very nice find!

I like the piano shot as well. Is that b&w with sepia or b&w with a filter?

    Thanks for sharing.

I love all the pictures, I'm suprised someone has not got
the "stuff" out and redone them.
    Thanks for sharing.

    It's sepia.

It's a little over 2 hrs drive from home so it's not readilly accessible. On the other hand, it's 40 feet from my parents' camper so it is very accessible anytime we go visit them at the camper. Those pesky No Trespassing signs don't deter me much.

Thanks for all of the kind words. There isn't really a road within sight of the barn. It is on the edge of the property that backs up to a campground. The fence and trees keep the big stuff safe. I actually took the piano shot through a 2ft x 2ft "window" from the rear passageway into that room. In the first shot, the 2 doorways are connected by an L-shaped passageway. The exterior doors to the piano room are nailed shut.

  11. Love the rusty stuff.

Very cool... I live in baltimore and we have lots of old industrial type stuff laying around - so I can appreciate that.

  13. Really neat find Kevin... Just love all the "stuff" inside. Thanks for sharing them. I enjoy looking at those items in the antique shops! Cool that you took pictures of them.

    Wonderful shot of the piano

  17. Great series. I like the piano shot on its own. However, as part of this series, I want to see it given the same treatment as the rest of the essay.

    Thanks guys.
It's a special place since it's close to my parents' place at the lake. I can revisit whenever I go there. There's an abandoned farmhouse nearby too. If/when I get a D300, I'd like to set it up and do some star trails over the house.
