It takes a little menu-diving to turn on eye-AF, but there's no harm AFAIK in just "opting in" and leaving it on all them time because... it only works in auto area AF. So, if you have eye-AF enabled, whenever you select auto area AF, you'll have the feature ready to go. I use it for portraits, and think it works well enough. Others, such as @Terri French, have had some good success photographing "less stationary subjects." For my part, I think the feature is not quite fully developed, but I'll be interested to hear your impressions.
To me this just made moving moving focus and recompose , af tracking and eye af so much simpler to use.
Great video. Set up my function buttons to take advantage of the v3.0 features. Focus and recompose for portraits just became a lot more convenient. Seems to work well on my Z7.
