Does anyone wants to share knowledge about compatibility between the Nikon F4S and AI Nikkor 45/2.8 P? :?
Just received my 45/2.8P with which I hoped to save some coins for portrait, being the 85/1.4 much much more expensive; it's marvelous and works on D2X, though MF.
Tried on my old F4S and the mirror won't flip back.
    Thanks for your reply.

It should be fully compatible with the F4 as well.

Thanks Bjorn; I was suggested at Nikon Office in Hong Kong that there might be some problem with the shutter. Since my F4S has been for 15 years without any check, I had better to send for a lookout and at least cleaning and lubrication. A very warm thank you Bjorn for your reply.

    F4s is the lens king

The F4s is the Nikon which can take almost all Nikon lenses.

On some of the earlier prong lenses you need to flick a switch under the prism back so that the lens seats fully.

I take mine out everyonce in a while.

It was my first "real" camera - and may be buried to me. Six or seven other bodies have come and gone, but the F4s stays.
