We just got back from out week at Sandbridge just south of Virginia Beach and north of the North Carolina Outer Banks. It was fun and relaxing with a few nice photo opportunities. Here is a variety of the highlights.

A couple cool action shots - the first two are my 6 year old son's first time in the ocean by him self. We were always close by.

The shots from the deck overlooking the beach. A beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view.

 Looks as if you had a good vacation. I have a family portrait to shoot in Sandbridge tomorrow. I'll probably take them to Little Island for the session. Your photos are very good. www.bsvirginian.smugmug.com

Thanks Mark and Bob. It's funny, I wanted to do a family portrait later in the week but realized that I forgot my L-bracket for my D200 and had no way to mount the camera on the tripod. Live and learn. I was happy to get some nice snapshots for the family scrap book.

I need to practice the portrait shooting and get the hang of fill flash. The beach is a nice place for family portraits, especially during the nice evening light with the ocean behind the subjects.

Here was the one I did take of my brother, nephew and son - all named Joe.

  5. That first picture is great. I need to keep that one as a example for my trip to the beach this year.
