My daughter's Senior year, and they won the North Div of the state playoffs.
This week, they face the top 4 teams from the South, for state champion in fastpitch. Our team is #1 seed from the North. Be a nice way to go out for my daughter, and they have a real shot at winning it all.
    D300, 300 f/2.8VR and 1.4TC at times. (2 games Sat)

The shots from the outfield are real nice Jeff, the ideal vantage point to get good images of the catcher. Congrats to your daughter and her team.

    really nice Jeff.

I'm doing baseball for the first time this year - no problem going on the outfield typically ?

  4. I really like the shots from the outfield, nice job Jeff

I overheard the umpire telling another photographer..."not allowed on the field".
    So...
Thanks to low fences, and a TC, I was able to get some shots from outside the outside fence. Even then, I had to crop heavy.
I worked with what I had to work with.
Some umpires never have a problem with photographers, some do.

Thanks Mike. I didn't have much choice of many vantage points. The fences were too high near the dugouts, and I didn't have field access.
Just worked with what I had to work with.

    Thanks Frank.
The UMP was probably one of the worst we've ever seen...in terms of missed calls.
Look closely at his eyes in #3 and you'll know why he missed the calls.

I was sort of forced into this vantage point, be restricted field access. Fortunately, very low fences in the outfield, and I did have my TC with me.

We're rooting for her Jeff, and for you to post some more shots like these. Love the outfield shots
