It really is a special place. The coastline is jagged all over. The shapes that are left make for interesting photos.

Beautiful seascapes again, Felix - especially in #2 and #4, the rocks are so jagged! And I surely would not have investigated using that ladder!

I think the ladder has seen much better days. It has been tied with wire to the rocks. Still wouldn’t be enough to convince me to climb down it. . I am thinking it would be used by fishermen however the path from the shore has been washed away so you couldn’t get to it easily.

Week 20 - Whites Beach

Whites Beach is located near Cape Bridgewater as part of the Discovery Bay Coastal Park. Strong rips and rough surf make it unsafe to swim or surf. It is in Descartes Bay (named after Rene Descartes) by Captain Nicolas Baudin when he sailed past the area in 1802.

Whites Beach is just a small isolated area bookended by high cliffs and rocky outcrops.

3. Fan Flowers were growing all along the path leading to the beach

6. Off shore rocky reefs stretch out 20 - 30 metres into the ocean.

8. An old pram wheel was washed up on the beach. (The beach was littered with shells, seaweed, cuttlefish and blue bottle jellyfish.). This old wheel has been utilised by gooseneck barnacles.

11. At the northern end of the beach is a cliff and rocky outcrops.

While many of your seascapes ring a bell, I had to revert to Google Maps to find this one - never heard of Whites Beach before. You’ve got a lot of coastline to work with Felix

It is very close to home Maurie. The Discovery Bay Coastal Park covers a large stretch of this part of South West Victoria.

#2 looks so serene compared to most of the others, Felix. That pram wheel and its residents are really cool, and I especially like the water cascading over the rocks in #s 11, 12, and 13. Looking forward to more as your weather changes!
