Wow, feather detail and color are superb. As good as it gets.

  3. I need me a TC 1.4 (that's a few bottle of wine!) Great shot.

  4. Thanks Rick.

Thanks Nick. Maybe your liver will thank you;) . While you're at it maybe pick up a D500 as well.
There's the "I aft" camp and the "I don't aft" camp. I'm a member of the former and I'm finding with my new bodies (D5, D500, and D850) little or no aft is required. For my D500+200-500, aft=0. But more surprising, for my D500+200-500+1.4TC, aft=0 as well. Most unusual since the addition of tc's usually requires aft correction. No complaints.

  5. My 200-500 and 24-120 needed no aft on my 850 (they did on the 810).

  6. Rick - you really nailed that shot beautifully. The feather detail is exceptional. Thanks for posting.

  7. Rick, that is one excellent shot, the feather detail is superb. Very well done.

    Rick

Nice shot but a couple of questions:

What is "aft" - not encountered this on dry land, and D500+200-500VR+1.4TC II - how far away from the finch were you?

  10. Thanks John.
    Thanks Louie.
    Thank you Darrell.
Thanks, auto focus fine tune, 10m.
