Taking a rest:
Dang...I was misled.. Ok so now I know.Very nice Bob. Looks like a female ruby throat to me though. We have lots of them at our feeders.
Thanks Boblou..Nice catch.
Good pictures with precise focus.
1,3 and 5 for me.
Thanks for confirming Nick.. I stand educated!Nice shots Bob. Too much green for a female Rufous, I think. Rick is correct.
Thanks Jim. I realize now that they are female ruby throated. They just looked so much like a different bird from the males.Top-notch photos, Bob. They look just like the ones coming to our feeders, which are primarily female ruby-throated hummers.
I'm ready...just hope I can recognized them when they comeRuby-throat hummer don't make it as far west as us. But we should have seen the belligerent Rufous a couple of weeks ago. Probably lining up for a D6 portrait session with Bob!
It wasn't until I cleaned out the feeder really well and gave them fresh feed every 3 days that they started showing up againThose are wonderful photos. I've had a feeder out all summer with only a couple of sightings. I keep changing the food, but no luck.
Thanks Louis.Top Notch work Bob.
