Critique Fennel

I saw this in the grocery store and knew I had to photograph it.

Setup
The tabletop and background are a single sheet of black velvet. A small continuous-light lamp fitted with a diffusion sock was on the right and slightly behind the subject. A black flag between the lamp and lens eliminated flare. A white reflector on the left brightened leaves on that side. A polarizer controlled direct reflections of the light source.

Focus Stacking
10 focus-bracketed images at Nikon step size 3 stacked in Helicon Focus at default settings.

Fennel always fascinates me. It makes a great, if gritty, garnish. A couple of days ago I made a fennel-potato soup, but never got around to any photos. I love the gradient from almost white to deep green and the delicate fronds at upper right.
